We have been testing some finishes on this beast of a cast iron base (circa 1922)which we plan to turn into an island or a counter with a bespoke top and shelving. We have tried paining and also lacquering, not sure if either work well. We may just have it glass blasted again and allow it dull down and then wax. It will be ready for sale shortly!
